St. Patrick's Day Nails!

I love green, so I'm seizing the opportunity I see here with St. Patrick's Day to wear some of my favorites!!

First up, Emerald Sparkle from China Glaze.  This is an old polish but definitely a favorite for me.

Lots of sunlight coming through on this day!

Next up, a newer China Glaze called Def Defying from the Cirque du Soleil Collection, topped with Lynnderella's famous Connect the Dots... I love CtD over greens!!!  Just wonderful.  I don't know if yellow-greens work on me, but who cares! lol!

Doing my best without a macro lens, haha.  You can click these to enlarge of course!
Hope you enjoyed & Happy St. Pat's!

OPI Alice In Wonderland - Mad As A Hatter

I have no idea why I waited for so long to wear this one!  Mad As A Hatter by OPI (or MAAH in NP-world) has been known as sort of a 'Holy Grail' glitter for some time...  And for good reason.  I managed to get away with the miniature in the set, but never nabbed a full-size.  So maybe that's why I waited so long to wear it.  Either way, here it is in all its microglittery gloriousness:

I'm scrambling for daylight in order to list off all of the many colors in this polish..

With flash

This one was about as good of a close-up as I could get.  You can click these to enlarge!!

Possible dupes, from what I've gathered:
OPI Sparkle-icious (only more gold)-- Still a little HTF
Funky Fingers - Icicle Lights
Barry M 216 - Silver Cascade

The only thing similar in my collection is China Glaze Glitter All The Way.. By no means a dupe, but certainly the same idea with the finer multi-glitter.

Hope you enjoyed!!

Chevron Nails: Step-By-Step

I got a few comments on my 'Chevron' nails on instagram, and I figured I would share here my *very amateur* step-by-step. :)

You could use any colors for this, but here are the ones I chose!

Chanel Sky Line, Orly Prince Charming (this is a dupe for OPI You Don't Know Jacques, essie Mink Muffs, you get the idea..)

For the base color I wound up using Chanel Delight, but I also thought Sally Hansen in Gilty Pleasure would have been beautiful.

How I got here after the jump!

Oldie But Goodie: Elevation Stay Behind, Catch A Wave

Up late, browsing through swatches on my computer and I found this lovely from last June, so I thought I would share.

The gorgeous circle-glitter topcoat is called Stay Behind, Catch A Wave, and it's made by Elevation Polish (http://lovebrownnailpolish.wordpress.com/) I've gotten comments that this looks like a fun little aquatic scene with bubbles, and every time I see it I think of that!

It's layered over a polish from the Hits Speciallita Mari Moon collection called Dreamer, but the important part is just that it's a really beautiful duochrome.

I didn't at first notice it had such a rusty/warm flash to it, but it's all I could ask for in a multichrome polish!

I have another version of this called simply "Catch A Wave"-- I think it may have a bit of gold or some subtle differences so I will have to get on top of swatching that one soon!  My Elevations need attention!

That's all for now. <3

Dreams - Valentine's Day Nails (with a twist)

The tried and true accent nail...

Recently, as I went about my usual go-to "romantic" nail-- one perfect little coat of OPI's Teenage Dream over any pink-- I had the sudden urge to change it up.  This is what came about.

Layering:  Two coats of L'oreal "Penthouse Pink", one coat of OPI "Teenage Dream" from the Katy Perry collection.  Ring finger: 2 coats of 3 thin coats of Deborah Lippmann "Mermaid's Dream"-- How cute that they're both "Dream" polishes!!

Sometimes I feel that Mermaid's Dream is a little too much for my coloring, so it's a great accent.

I tried to capture this at several different angles, since I don't have the best lens for my camera and I *NEED* you to see the holographic particles.  Haha!

(You can click these to enlarge!)

I love Teenage Dream, and it's discontinued, so it's a great one to snag!  More V-day nails later!

Lynnderella - Sweets to the Sweet

What better way to start a nail blog than by swatching all of my poor, sad, unused, neglected (catch my sarcastic drift yet?) drumroll...... Lynnderellas!

My collection of Lynnderellas is small compared to some, and mostly consisting of her older polishes, but these polishes are always the first ones to catch the attention of my friends... Be it sitting on the rack, in photos, or in person.

So without further ado, one that was *actually* a little neglected by my, up until now.  Sweets to the Sweet.

I've layered it over two coats of Revlon's Pale Cashmere from the Colorstay line.

Sweets to the Sweet is one of those "milky-based" polishes that looks just like candy on your nails.  And it wouldn't be a Lynnderella without a mish-mash of WHATEVER THE HECK thrown in there.

Large and small, matte and shiny, square and hex glitter and every color.  I spy red, green, purple, yellow, orange, silver, blue and lots of matte white.  It's a handful (ew, no pun!) but I love it.

For reference, here is Revlon Pale Cashmere alone!
